Artist Statement

My fascination is with the dichotomies of human experience:
the obscure and illuminated aspects of our existence,
fear and ecstasy,
pain and insight,
the matter and the spirit of our fabric.
I am obsessed with the coexistence of these opposing conditions in our nature.
In my work I attempt to unravel the mysteries of their union in a visual context.
It is a constant search for that uniting element which binds them together,
the discovery of its shape and character, which forms an expression of some unseen reality.
And it is my desire to render these ulterior realities visible that drives me.
